Start Developing Good Throwing Mechanics Early

The best way to throw a baseball in the regular course of play is with what is called a four-seam grip. With this grip, the thumb is tuck below the ball and gripped with a pair of fingers across its seams. If your two fingers were to go with the seams, then that would be the two-finger grip that is used in pitching.

An effective way of becoming comfortable with the four-seam grip playing catch and concentrating on pulling the ball from the glove while keeping the fingers on the seams. It will take some time and practice, but once a player becomes comfortable, velocity and accuracy will inevitably improve.

The glove itself also plays a role. If players develop a habit of allowing the glove hand to be thrown behind the back in the middle of throwing the ball, this may cause the player to lose their balance, potentially resulting in throw inaccuracy.
